Activity Days Help, Fabric, Sewing Machines needed.

We're hoping to make simple skirts in activity days over the next month as part of a lesson on modesty and also to learn about sewing. If anyone has any fabric, elastic, or ribbon that they would like to donate that would be great. More importantly though, we will need to borrow some sewing machines. The dates we would need them would most likely be June 9th and 23rd (Activity days is 7-8:15 at the church). We may be ready to start sewing on May 26th, but I'm thinking we'll need at least that evening to take measurements and cut fabric.

WE learned about Herbs and how to use them in the kitchen, also sampled Basil Jelly and freezer pickles- we will get the recipes out to you soon!

And, we learned from sister Wanda Franklin about fruit and vegetable gardening, and saw photos of her successful garden!

It was a great evening and we are so grateful for all that was shared and all that we learned!

Blood Sugar Monitor

Brother John Jordan has a blood sugar monitor that he used to check blood sugars for diabetics. He doesn't need it anymore. If there is anyone who could use it, he would be happy to give it away.

If you, or someone you know would be able to use some Newborn Enfamil, Christa Hedricks has some formula she isn't using that she'd like to offer out. Also available are some Enfamil coupons.

Toy Donations Needed for C2 RS Children's Classes

Hello Sisters!

We are in need of toy donations for our C2 RS "Toy Box" We will be using it for our children's class for Relief Society Evening Meetings And for our one-time per month temple trip child-care swap. So just two times per month- but we need toys to entertain our ward children during these times.

Also, we are in need of children's door gates for the same purposes.

If you are spring-cleaning and happen to have toys or children's gate's you are clearing out, we'd greatly appreciate these. Please email a member of the RS Presidency or bring them on Sunday or to one of our other meetings. (or email: col2rs@gmail.com )

Stake Relief Society Women's Conference- THIS Saturday.

Dear Sisters,

We wanted to send out one last reminder about our special Columbia Stake women's conference, "Embrace Our Purpose." The fun begins this Saturday at 8 a.m. with a walk, which will be cancelled in case of rain.Opening exercises will begin promptly at 9 a.m., and our own President Mitchell will address us at that time. Two class periods will follow. The luncheon will begin at 11:30, and two class periods will follow lunch. Our service project will be ongoing throughout the day. Nice casual dress is requested.

This conference is open to ALL sisters in our stake, neighbors or friends, and graduating Laurels may attend with their mothers. Please know you are invited to attend even if you didn't get a chance to register online for the classes.

News from a happy new grandmother Pam Diamond

My daughter Katherine and her hubby Ryan Grastorfs had their first baby girl on Tuesday, March 15th at 11.02 a.m. Audrey Mae was 8.1 lbs and 21 inches long. Everyone is tired and Mom is sore, but all are doing well. FYI, Katherine resides in the Columbia 1st ward now but she grew up in our ward.

Book Study #2 Sneak Peek :-)

Dear Sisters:

Our very first book study in February was a great success. We had close to 20 sisters who have read the book called "Continuing Atonement" and there are few who are reading it thanks to those who have finished the book and were willing to share it with those who were interested to read it.

We would like to announce the next book study which will be in April (the date and place will be announced soon) and here is a book which few of you recommended to RS Presidency for the next book study. We have felt it would be a great read and many of you might be interested in the following title. The book is called "A Heart Like His: Making Space for God's Love in Your Life" by Virgina H.
