This is a friendly reminder to you and your family of today's (February 18th) Columbia 2nd Ward Activity called "Kids Try It at Home" which takes place at 7:00pm at Church. The Young Men are in charge of the activities. They along with the YM leaders will teach us FUN ACTIVITIES FOR family home evenings. Should be a night of fun, relaxation, laughter and a simple getting together with our ward family!
No need to bring anything. We extend a special invitation to all the new families who just have moved recently into our ward. This is a great way to get to know your brothers and sisters!

RS Wednesday Night Feb 9th Meeting " Elements of Communication"

"Educating Ourselves About Depression"

Sisters;

The Eldersburg Relief Society is holding a meeting on February 10, 7-9pm at the Eldersburg Ward Building. It is a class entitled "Educating Ourselves About Depression". This class is for both sisters and brethren. Sister Ann Rothlisberger, a LDS Social Services Counselor, will be speaking on clinical depression (including post partum) and how to recognize when it's time to seek professional help. Sister Lorie Pierce, Eldersburg Ward Relief Society president, will be speaking from a gospel perspective on the day to day dealing with depression. Most of us will at some point in our lives encounter depression - either through experiencing it ourselves or associating with someone who is. This meeting is intended to educate - not diagnose. Should Carroll County Schools be closed that day due to inclement weather or should they close early for inclement weather - this meeting will be postponed until April 7, 7-9pm.

While we are offering a children's class for families in our ward - we are not equiped to offer that to families from other wards. I apologize if any announcement that may have been passed along through our bishops indicated differently.

Power Wheelchair Available

I have a power wheelchair that needs a new home. They cost several thousand dollars when new.
I'm sure that it probably needs a new battery, which cost between $100-$200, but
is much better than several thousand. If the cost of the battery is a problem,
then I will also buy a new one for it. Please let me know if someone in the

Baby Girl Lydia Lau is born today!

We are thrilled to announce that Cynthia and Timothy Lau are proud parents of a new baby girl Lydia Lau. Lydia was born today, January 19th at 11:56 am. She is 21 and half inches long and weighs 7 pounds 11 ounces! Their older daughter Eliza cannot wait to see her baby sister Lydia tonight! The baby and mom are healthy and doing great! Congratulations!

Book Study

Dear Sisters:

We are excited that many are interested in studying a Gospel oriented book together as Relief Society Sisters. The book study is meant to support sisters in spiritual growth and sisterhood. This meeting is not mandatory, nor will it involve everyone; just those who are looking to share thoughts and a good book!

We have asked Sister Sue Cooper to head up the discussion on the first book. She will hold the first meeting at her house at 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 16th. Please, check the book below, and decide if it might be something you might be interested. The book is a recommendation from sister Sue Cooper who has read it (please, see her review below). The name of the book is "Continuous Atonement" by Brad Wilcox, published by Deseret Book. It is your responsibility to get a copy of the book or to share with other members of the book study. C2 Women's Group

It's been a long time since we've done a C2 women's group! But Sara Christiansen (recently moved to the C1 area) has generously offered that everyone come to her home this week. FAMILY in NEED -Household Items and toddler items

The brother of the family that I work for has had a fire that took everything they had. Thank goodness that no one in their family was hurt but they lost all of their possessions. If anyone is able to help with any household items or toddler things (they have a son that is 2) please contact me.
